Hell or High Water

Neo-Westerns are so hot right now. When the Coen Brothers made their instant classic No Country For Old Men, a new genre was born. Westerns tell the tale of how the west was won. Neo-Westerns effectively show how the west is dead. Hell or High Water is one of these tales. Hell or High Water is a harrowing, riveting, often funny story of two good ole boys from Texas trying to rob banks and get rich...but why? They are pursued by two aging Texas Rangers that are watching the West slowly die around them, and are quickly realizing the world they once knew is gone.

Written by Taylor Sheridan, this movie is actually the second picture in what is known as the Frontier Trilogy. The first being the thriller Sicario, followed by the heart breaking Wind River. The Frontier Trilogy focuses on the politics, economics, and Environmental destruction that is the actual cause of killing the New Frontier, or what we know as The West.
